Summary of Intervention(s) | • In January 2018, the University of Pittsburgh’s Student Government Board passed a resolution supporting expanded use of Open Educational Resources (OER) and open textbooks as a means to control rising costs of course materials for students.
• In an open letter to staff, the University’s Provost asked for production of Open Educational Resources to be incentivized among faculty staff.
• One means the Provost asked leaders across the University to implement was: “… the creation of OER [Open Educational Resource] course materials be noted in annual reports and promotion and tenure processes similar to the creation of other types of course materials such as textbooks.”
