• Examples of the range of research outputs that are important to recognize and support include the development of key technologies (AI, quantum technology), the sector plans (natural sciences, social sciences and humanities) being developed at the request of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, and the ‘routes’ in the National Research Agenda (such as energy transition, living history, youth in development, smart industry, etc.)
• The framework for research also outlines the importance of supporting diversity within research groups, team science, interdisciplinary collaboration, and open science practices.
