Summary of Intervention(s) | • In the Netherlands, various debates, agendas and campaigns around responsible research assessment culminated in the multi-stakeholder Recognition and Rewards Programme and its position paper ‘Room for Everyone’s Talent’ being published in 2019. • The Dutch Recognition & Rewards movement’s calls to better reward education, impact, leadership, and patient care (in medical schools), alongside (or instead of) research.
• In line with these developments, Erasmus School of Management published a report proposing to develop tenure track positions shaped around non-linear career paths that everyone can design for themselves on the basis of their talents and preferences.
• The Report also planned to look into how to better recognize and reward teaching and research collaborations in career profiles and tenure and promotion decisions.
