UCalgary signs Declaration on Research Assessment

In March 2021, University of Calgary became a signatory of DORA, recognizing a need for reform in research policy. This resource highlights UCalgary’s motivation for signing DORA, as well as their plans for a new framework regarding research assessment.

UCalgary signing the Scarborough Charter to address anti-Black racism and foster Black inclusion

In November 2021, University of Calgary signed the Scarborough Charter on Anti-Black Racism and Black Inclusion. This resource describes UCalgary’s committment to combatting racial biases and systemic racism by recognizing the research excellence of Black faculty and students, and instituting an Equitable and Inclusive Hiring Guide, among a number of other goals and initiatives.

San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) signed by Utrecht University

In 2019, Utrecht University signed DORA. In this news item, the University expresses its commitment to changing its procedures in line with DORA principles and frames signing the Declaration as part of Utrecht’s broader efforts to stimulate Open Science and find new ways to reward and incentivize staff.
