Summary of Intervention(s) | • The Science and Technology Recruiting to Improve Diversity and Excellence (STRIDE) committee at the University of Michigan provides information and advice on practices that will likely maximize the chances of diverse, well-qualified candidates being identified and selected for faculty positions.
• The STRIDE committee gives workshop and training to faculty on discrimination and unconscious bias and uses a candidate evaluation tool at all stages of screening and assessment of candidates to ensure consistent and objective application of criteria and transparent decision making processes.
• As well as focusing on recruitment, STRIDE also advises within the University on retention of candidates once hired.
