  • In 2021, Sorbonne adopted a policy on promoting actions for open science in its internal evaluation of research. It prescribes a stronger consideration of all research output in evaluations (publications, datasets, software, patents, among others). Priority in internal assessments in Sorbonne shall be put on the content and intrinsic quality of research work; open access publication; the opening of research data; the dissemination of knowledge; other actions in favor of the opening of science. The policy underscores the commitment to assessing scientific content and commitment to open science rather than bibliometric indicators or the reputation of journals or publishers.
  • In 2022, Sorbonne University signed both DORA and CoARA Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment, a step which builds on Sorbonne’s prior commitments to open science.
