• A progress update to a strategic Outcome Agreement document 2017-2020, states that Queen Margaret University had become a signatory of DORA (page 28) and had created its own institutional statement on responsible uses of metrics.
• The statement is based on principles derived from DORA, Leiden Manifesto and the Metric Tide Report.
• In respect to hiring and promotion, the statement sets out the following requirements: to make criteria used for selection explicit to candidates in advance, to give as wide a view of an individual’s expertise, experience, activities and influence as possible, and to make assessment based on research content not quantitative indicators.
• To further implement the principles, the University will set up training and gives details of where poor practices around uses of metrics can be anonymously reported.
